Football season hasn’t started yet, but we’re already daydreaming about the tailgate spread. Southerners are known for—and take pride in—going all out for game day. Whether you set up at the stadium or lay out an at-home spread worthy of Ole Miss, no party compares to our roster of appetizers and finger foods.

For University of Arkansas fans, Southern chicken brand Tyson Foods—based in close proximity to the school in Northwest Arkansas—just announced a brand-new frozen chicken nugget shape that’ll spark your school spirit. This fall, fans can support the Razorbacks with a themed spread of white-meat nuggets in the shape of the iconic hog mascot. Wooo pig, indeed!

“Tyson Foods is in Razorback Country, most of our team members are huge Razorback fans, and our consumers have been calling for a way to celebrate their team,” said Kristina Lambert, SVP & GM Retail Value Added Poultry, Tyson Foods. “We've listened and are excited to deliver Tyson Razorback Nuggets to Arkansas fans in time for the football season. These nuggets are perfect for upcoming game day events and just in time for tailgating, so stock up!”

Excited about the playful partnership with the nearly 90-year-old company, University of Arkansas’ Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics also chimed in, saying, “With these two iconic Arkansas brands teaming up, the Razorback Nation will be primed and ready to 'Call the Hogs' from pre-game to post-game while showing their loyal support of our more than 460 Razorback student-athletes.”

The new Razorback Nuggets are “fully cooked, skillfully breaded, and ready in under seven minutes in an air fryer,” the product release stated. They will be available for purchase at select Walmart stores in Northwest Arkansas and Missouri starting July 30 and select Sam's Club locations in September.

There’s nothing quite like homemade chicken nuggets at the tailgate, mind you, but even we can’t capture the likeness of the iconic Arkansas hog as skillfully as Tyson or pull an impressive chicken dinner together in less than ten minutes.

You’d better believe that we’ll be bringing Homemade Ranch to dip, though.
