Construction Company Buys Up All The Christmas Trees At One Food Lion For Those In Need

Some families in King, North Carolina, who couldn't afford a Christmas tree are getting a chance to take one home to decorate just in time for the holiday. Construction company Stokes Concrete & Construction Works bought all 65 Christmas trees at their local Food Lion and told management to give them away to families in need.

"These are for families that are in King and are in need, cant afford one and haven't got their Christmas tree up yet," the company stated on Facebook. "One per family please. This Community has blessed us dearly and we are hoping to give back a little to where it's needed. Merry Christmas from Stokes Concrete Construction."

The post stated the donation was in "loving memory of our client Robert Miller." Owner Crystal Lawson told WFMY News 2 that Miller was their very first client, and they wanted to show how much he meant to the company.

"Makes me feel good that we had a community to support our business throughout the year and that we were able to give away to help a child or anyone in a home to help to go ahead and get their Christmas tree started for the holiday season, " Lawson said.

Dozens of the construction company's customers and followers commented after hearing about the generous gift, calling it a "beautiful act of kindness" and "such a blessing."

"Thanks for your huge hearts," one commenter said. "The gift of giving is better than receiving." Now that's the Christmas spirit.
