Eight years after the death of his wife, country singer Rory Feek walked down the aisle again—and it was all thanks to his 10-year old daughter. In a blog post on his website, Feek shared that after the death of his wife and singing partner Joey Feek, he had found love again. He walked down the aisle on Sunday, July 14, this time to wed his partner, Rebecca, who was his daughter Indiana’s teacher. In a love story that he described as “a little like a Hallmark movie”, Feek explained in an earlier post how Rebecca went from the big city to small-town life and found love with the widowed father of one of her students. Of course, Feek wanted to make sure his daughter was okay with the relationship. One day, Indiana surprised him by telling him, “I told Miss Rebecca that my Mama’s been gone a long time. And if she marries you, maybe she could be my new mother...”. Feek wrote, “Needless to say, as I wiped away some tears, I told her I thought that was a wonderful idea. And after more prayer and conversation. We settled on a plan and a date…” Fast forward to July and the couple tied the knot “under a beautiful timber-frame pavilion” in Greycliff, Montana, in front of a small group of family and friends. The groom had a surprise for his bride though: A new song written and performed by Feek, appropriately called, “I Do”. “I sang at a wedding this past weekend," Feek wrote. "The only thing was … the bride had no idea. Neither did most of the family and friends who came,” he shared. “So it was a big surprise for just about everyone there. Except me.” As Feek described the process of writing this song for his new wife he said, “I found myself thinking about how blessed I was to be given the opportunity to love again... To not only feel loved, but to get the chance to give love again. To be the one who gets to spend my life making Rebecca happy.” In a video shared on the blog post, Feek explained that this was a wedding album of sorts. “Though it's only three minutes long, it is the culmination and celebration of a much, much longer journey for her, and for me, and for Indiana.” Was this page helpful?
