The sophomore revealed his decision to go pro in an emotional Thursday morning press conference. “At this time, I want to announce that I am turning professional. I am accepting my PGA Tour membership. I’m going to debut at the AT&T Pebble-Beach Pro-Am.” Dulap said as the crowd clapped. "A week ago, if you told me that I had the opportunity to live out my dream as a 20-year-old, that’s pretty surreal,” he continued. “But it’s also scary. There’s a lot of changes." The Birmingham native earned his entrance into the PGA’s limited-field “signature events” on Sunday by winning The American Express, becoming the tour's first amateur winner since 1991. "It was the easiest hardest decision I've ever had to make, by far," he said with tears in his eyes. “It was clear that I did want to play professional golf and it was a golden opportunity to do that. I was given a really cool opportunity and I wanted to try to chase that.” We can’t wait to see what’s next for this talented young man! Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
