McDonald's New Collector's Meal Serves Up Serious Nostalgia

Does the thrill of opening a Happy Meal to discover which toy is inside still speak to you? Or maybe you have memories of a special family trip to McDonald's to collect a commemorative cup? Well starting next week, you can indulge your inner child with McDonald's new Collector's Meal, featuring nostalgic cups that reach into decades past.

"We're bringing back some of our most-loved keepsakes with a twist, giving fans a memory that they can hold in their hands," Morgan Flatley, global chief marketing officer and head of new business ventures for McDonald's, stated in a press release. "These new collectible cups commemorate some of our most unforgettable designs and global collaborations over the years, allowing longtime fans to relive treasured moments and helping a new generation make their own lasting memories."

The six collector's cups include: Mattel toys Barbie and Hot Wheels; Beanie Babies including the 2004 Golden Arches Bear; classic Coca-Cola designs; a Hello Kitty and Peanuts combo; and blockbuster films Shrek, Jurassic Park, and Minions. And of course, there's a cup adorned with favorite McDonald's character collectibles over the years.

Go ahead and clear some space in your cupboard, because the Collector's Meal will be available starting August 13 for an unspecified, limited time. During breakfast hours, it includes a Sausage McMuffin with Egg, Hash Brown, and coffee. The rest of the day, you can choose between 10-piece Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac. Both meals come with fries and a soft drink.
