A week after news broke that the gymnastics legend’s daughter Skyla, 24, welcomed her first baby, a girl, Retton’s oldest daughter Shayla Schrepfer announced that she was expecting her first child. “Baby Schrepfer coming February 2025! ‘Children are a gift from the Lord, they are a reward from Him.’ Psalm 127:3,” Shayla wrote on Instagram Thursday alongside a photo of her holding sonogram photos while hugging her husband Wyatt. “Sweet baby, we are so excited and HONORED to be your parents! We cannot wait to meet you!” Speaking with People after the birth of her first grandchild last week, Retton revealed that she had chosen to be called “LouLou.” "I'm going to be a LouLou," Retton said. "I don't want to be a Mimi, a Gigi, or a Nana. A LouLou.” Retton, who is still recovering from a rare case of pneumonia that left her hospitalized last year, told the publication that she couldn’t wait to be a doting grandmother. "I'm just going to be spoiling the heck out of them," the mother of four said at the time. "Which I did not do to my kids! So I'll spoil them, and when they come over I'll just play with them, hide and seek, all of it. It's going to be LouLou's time!" Congratulations y’all! Was this page helpful?
