Suddeth, died on July 23, 2024. Now, in the wake of a huge wave of kindness and support, the singer is ready to open up and return to the road. The Georgia native first took to social media to share the sad news the day after losing her father. She said, in part, "We lost my daddy last night and I really don't have words yet." Now she's expressing her gratitude to those around her for their support. "Thank you. I can’t think of much else to say right now other than thank you," she wrote in the caption of a post on social media. "Thank you to everyone who has checked on me and continued to show up for me.” The former American Idol star went on to specifically mention the support she received from her tour mate Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany, who treated her "like family" in the wake of the loss, as well as her husband, momma, and siblings, too. "Thank you to my husband for being the arms that are holding me together all day and all night long. Thank you to my brother and sister and their beautiful babies for the FaceTimes at all times of the day to make me smile or bring me comfort in any way you can. Thank you to my momma and bonus dad for coming out on the road with me. Thank you to my team for giving me a loving environment on the road. Most of all thank you Jesus for the unconditional love and strength from the Kingdom of God surrounding all of us right now as we navigate this pain and sorrow," she wrote. Alaina, who had understandably canceled shows in the wake of her father's death, ended the note to her fans by sharing that she would be back on stage soon. She is rejoining Aldean's Highway Desperado Tour, beginning with the tour stop in Indiana on August 8. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
