Whether you’re ready to welcome fall with open arms or you’re reluctant to rush the remainder of our Southern summer, we have an announcement from one of our favorite doughnut chains to kick off the upcoming season. Charlotte, North Carolina-based Krispy Kreme is bringing back sugar, spice, and everything nice with the return of two limited-time pumpkin spice treats beginning August 12. If you’re not familiar with pumpkin spice, think cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves—and occasionally, an actual hint of pumpkin—that infuse our fall baking projects with warm, cozy flavor. That’s exactly what you can expect this season at Krispy Kreme. Krispy Kreme The Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut is a fan-favorite each autumn, and is considered one of the chain’s most anticipated seasonal offerings. It’s “glazed, old-fashioned, and the perfect combination of crumbly cake and pumpkin spice flavor,” Krispy Kreme says. And then there’s the classic we’ve all been waiting for: the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Available hot, iced, or frozen—for whatever temperature in which you’d like to indulge—this beloved beverage is topped with whipped cream and pumpkin spice seasoning. “It’s August and we’re all ready for pumpkin spice, somehow. So, we’re bringing back the classics you’re craving,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme Global Chief Brand Officer. “Our fans want their Krispy Kreme Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut and Latte right now, and we’re here for it. Stay tuned though, we’re not done spicing up the season.” Skena hints at other fall menu items to come from the Southern doughnut chain. For now, however, guests can pick up these limited-time pumpkin spice sweets at participating Krispy Kreme locations or find Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnuts at select grocery retailers, where fresh six-packs are delivered daily. Krispy Kreme If this announcement has you dreaming of tasty fall goodies you can make at home, we have a long list of recipes to curb your apple, pumpkin, pecan, sweet potato, and maple cravings.
