McDuff and her fiancé just moved into a new house in Richardson, Texas, north of Dallas, and got a sweet surprise from their neighbor from across the street. She shared the encounter in a TikTok video that has been "loved" more than 2.2 million times and garnered more than 23,000 comments. In the video, the elderly neighbor, named JB, can be seen through the window walking up his driveway before McDuff is seen with her hand over her mouth in disbelief. The text on the video says "We just moved into a new neighborhood and my 98 year old neighbor just dropped off a cake to welcome us to the neighborhood." "He's lived here for 52 years and and 'hopes we love it as much as he has.'" The caption McDuff wrote on the video says, simply, "I love it here." Most of the responses to the video are equally as wholesome. "How nice to be able to meet someone with almost 100 years of knowledge. So sweet ❤️" "Your neighbor is from a whole different time, a better time. Cherish that." McDuff returned the kind gesture, making a lemon pie for her neighbor and taking it to him. She recorded his response that could melt even the iciest of hearts. "Bless your sweetheart [sic] I love lemon pie. . . you didn't have to do that but I'm delighted you did." They end their pleasantries exchanging telephone numbers and McDuff says to the camera "I have no words. I'm simply on cloud 9 and will be recovering the rest of the week." McDuff's neighborly behavior hasn't stopped there. She shared another TikTok video of herself taking flowers (along with a contact list and a list of her and her fiance's hobbies) to a recently widowed neighbor who also lives next door.
