Joanna Gaines has taken cooking inspiration from an unlikely place—the hospital cafeteria—and now she's sharing her favorite post-labor-and-delivery meal with the rest of us.

In a clip previewing Sunday's episode of Magnolia Table, the mother of five said she's developed an "odd tradition" of eating chicken cordon bleu at the hospital cafeteria after giving birth. Anytime she has to go to the hospital, "There are two things I look forward to: chicken cordon bleu and anesthesia,” she quipped.

“Oh and the baby—three, three!” the "Fixer Upper" host joked. “I love meeting the baby.”

"Lol I tell everyone I can’t wait to have another baby because I love the hospital’s breakfast sausage," a fan commented on Gaines' Instagram page. "That’ll be happening again for me in a few shorts days. Can’t wait. Also can’t wait for my son."

Chicken cordon bleu is a traditional French dish that consists of chicken loaded with cheese and ham and then rolled up and breaded to make a gooey, satisfying, hearty meal. Sure to stick to your bones and restore your energy, the meal feels a bit fancy, too—especially if you drizzle a nice Dijon cream sauce over top.

There are many takes on this beloved chicken dish, like our Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwiches and Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole. We recommend a simple side salad or roasted asparagus or green beans to complete the meal.

Gaines will share her take on the classic on her show this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET or 12 p.m. CST on Magnolia Network.
