On the Today show with her famous daughter Monday, Pat, 86, said that she simply "decided" to “be alright" after losing William, who died on March 30 at age 85. "I was so worried about being a widow. And then one day I had an epiphany: ‘You will be alright, Pat.’ And I am," she said as Jennifer nodded. “And you really did,” the 13 Going on 30 star agreed. “You made that decision.” “Now... I miss him. And I so wanted to tell him I was gonna be on the Today show,” Pat admitted. Jennifer nodded adamantly. "Yeah.. he would be... he loved how much people love you So he would be right there, smiling,” she said as she pointed off camera. "How lucky to grow up with parents like mine,” she mused. “I'm always aware of it. My sisters and I are.” Jennifer announced the death of her father in an emotional Instagram post on April 1, revealing that the patriarch “passed peacefully” in her hometown of Charleston, West Virginia. “We were with him, singing ‘Amazing Grace’ as he left us,” she wrote alongside a series of family photos. “While there is no tragedy in the death of an 85-year-old man who lived a healthy, wonderful life, I know grief is unavoidable, waiting around unexpected corners.” The actress previously marked her parents' anniversary with a post that read, "Happy 59th anniversary to my incredibly sweet and loving parents." "Thank you, Mom and Dad, for giving my sisters and me such a secure, happy start to life," she added. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
