When asked who taught him the most about performing and having a good stage presence, the "Save Me" singer said that Church taught him how to give other singers the spotlight when inviting them on stage. "Now I always believe in stepping back and letting people have their moment, but Eric is really good at letting every person on that stage, when it's their moment, he gets out of the way and lets them have their moment," Jelly Roll said in a recent interview with Taste of Country Nights on Demand. The Nashville native said that when he opened for Church, "Whenever I would come up and sing with him, the couple times I was blessed to come on stage with Eric, I mean, he would get as far back from me as possible." "I thought that was just really tasteful of him," Jelly Roll told Taste of Country. The two performed Church's hit "Homeboy" live on stage as a duet in 2023. Of course, the six-time CMT award winner and rising country star is on tour now as a headliner. Jelly Roll's "Beautifully Broken Tour" continues through November with a variety of opening acts who will get their chance to shine. The Chief is also on tour this summer and fall.
