They just feel like such an upgrade but at an affordable price.” The LED lights are made of durable stainless steel to stand up to wind and rain, and they’re solar powered, which means they don’t need to be plugged into an outlet. After charging in the sun during the day, the lights automatically turn on at night and remain lit for up to six hours. The set of eight lights are enough to illuminate small pathways and garden beds for just under $6 apiece. Darby Home Co. Hayler Wood Burning Outdoor Fire Pit Table with Lid Wayfair Orig. $226 $150 at Wayfair “If I had a backyard, a fire pit would be one of the first things I’d buy—they’re just so cozy, and in the South we can use them pretty much year-round, too,” Morgan explains. “This pick is simple and sleek, and I love that it can do triple duty as a barbecue or an outdoor table when it’s not in use.” Geometric vents on the side of the fire pit add a unique design while also providing airflow to keep your fire burning. The cutouts are screened to prevent sparks from flying out of the fire, too. You’ll be able to enjoy the pit for years thanks to the rust-resistant coating and waterproof cover that protects it while not in use. The fire pit also comes with a lid to use it as a table and two cooking grates for grilling. Steelside Lauryn Moroccan Rug Wayfair Orig. $238 $80 at Wayfair Morgan says that she’s a big fan of outdoor rugs, noting, “They’re a smart and stylish way to define a space on your patio, whether that’s for sitting or dining, and they make your outdoor space feel like a real extension of your home.” “I love the bold pattern on this particular rug, and I think it would pair nicely with a light and bright outdoor furniture set, like this one that’s also on sale,” Morgan adds. “Just be sure to use one that’s actually water resistant and stain resistant!” The Moroccan-style rug is made of stain- and fade-resistant polypropylene that can withstand sun and rain, making it perfect for any climate. It’s available in three colors, as well as rectangular, square, round, and runner styles to fit a variety of patios, decks, and yards. Sol 72 Outdoor Yuliana Lighted Market Umbrella with Weighted Base Wayfair Orig. $280 $180 at Wayfair Morgan says that “a good patio umbrella is key” if you do a lot of outdoor entertaining. “This one’s wide rectangular shape and large size make it perfect for shading a dining table or a lounge area outdoors, and the built-in lights ensure that the party won’t stop when it gets dark,” she explains. Designed to withstand winds up to 30 mph, the umbrella’s heavy metal stand and weighted base will stop it from tipping over. The water-, wind-, and stain-resistant shade also provides SPF 50 for UV protection, and the coolest feature is the solar-powered LED lights on the underside of the umbrella. You can choose from eight colors, including mint green, beige, brown, navy, and more. Beachcrest Home Delosreyes Four-Person Outdoor Seating Group with Cushions Wayfair Orig. $1,085 $390 at Wayfair According to Morgan, this seating arrangement includes “basically everything you need to set up a conversation area all in one.” She adds, “Outdoor furniture tends to look kind of clunky, so I like that these solid acacia wood pieces are sleek and stylish while still remaining weather resistant.” Included in the set is a loveseat, a coffee table, and two armchairs to seat up to four people. The wood frames and polyester cushions are water and stain resistant, so you don’t have to worry if you forget to bring in the cushions when it rains. Plus, the cushion covers are removable for easy cleaning. Yaheetech Artificial Boxwood Plants Wayfair Orig. $180 $68 at Wayfair “Here’s a hack for renters out there who want a little more privacy on their apartment balconies: faux plant panels,” Morgan says. “I hung similar tiles on my balcony, and it made it feel so much more peaceful out there. They’re easy to trim to size and attach to balcony railings with zip ties.” The set includes 12 tiles made of UV- and weather-resistant plastic that doesn’t require any upkeep or watering—another bonus to the faux plants. The pack covers 33 square feet, and each tile features three layers of faux boxwood to deliver a full, realistic look that covers its grid and zip ties. Wade Logan Steel Outdoor Rocker Chair Wayfair Orig. $586 $170 at Wayfair “There’s just something about sitting in a rocker on the porch on a hot summer day with a good book and an ice-cold drink that can’t be beat,” says Morgan. “Plus, I love that this rocking chair has gotten a bit of a modern makeover with its simple steel frame.” The chair’s sturdy steel frame and foam cushions are water, mold, and mildew resistant, and the cushion covers are machine washable, so you can just toss them in the wash if you spill something.
