A Florida dog saved from her abuser by a 13-year-old boy is looking for her “happily ever after.”

“They call my breed vicious…” HALO No-Kill Rescue in Sebastian wrote in a Facebook post written from the perspective of four-year-old pitbull Arabella.

The post goes on to explain how the pup ended up at the rescue thanks in large part to the heroic actions of a passing teenager.

“On February 2nd at a public gas station, I was beaten with a chain and punched to near death when a 13-year-old boy stepped in to save me and almost took one of my hits,” it reads. “Before my owner drove away with me, deputies arrived and I was taken from him, while he now faces 5 years in prison. That day and that young boy became my greatest gift.”

After recovering from her injuries, Arabella was transferred to H.A.L.O. where she is safe from euthanasia due to overcrowding.

“Now I am ready for my happily ever after… a home filled with love,” the post says.

Arabella is described as “initially shy with people,” but after a couple visits, her “walls melt” and she becomes loving and puppy-like.

“I think that Arabella’s sweet personality — even after the extreme amount of abuse that she... dealt with by humans — is a real testament to the resiliency behind this breed,” Allyson King, director of development for HALO, told McClatchy News.

Arabella’s adoption profile says that she would do best in a house with children over the age of 12 due to her initial timidness and tendency to become “a little too excitable” during playtime.

“I am hopeful my family will come soon so that the sun can finally set with the past behind me and a future of all sunshine ahead!” the Facebook post concludes.
