We know that wrapping presents can be just as difficult as buying them, so we reached out to an expert to share some tips and must-have products to make the process go more smoothly. “Gifting can be overwhelming,” Kate Kosarek, an event planner and former Container Store employee, says. “There is pressure just to find a good gift, and then there is added pressure to have it look nice. Having the right tools can alleviate some of the stress, making the process quicker, easier, and fun.” We couldn’t agree more, so keep reading to shop expert-approved gift wrapping supplies. Shop Scarves, Belt Bags, And More Starting At $19 Honey-Can-Do Craft Storage Cart Amazon Orig. $86 $77 at Amazon “A gift wrap organizer cart was one of the best purchases I ever made,” Kosarek says. “I would try to find something that allows you to keep everything together (wrap, ribbon, tags, bows, tissue, bags, boxes, etc.). It's easier to know what you have and what you need, and when it comes time to wrap, you can complete the task quickly.” This cart has tons of compartments to keep all your supplies handy. It features three drawers, two shelves, two slots for rolls of wrapping paper, and there are even rods on the side where you can dispense ribbon and ties. Plus, the cart has wheels for easy maneuvering , and they also lock to keep the cart in place as you work. ProPik Hanging Double-Sided Gift Wrapping Paper Storage Organizer Amazon $23 at Amazon If you’re limited in space, Kosarek also recommends a hanging organizer like this one from ProPik. “An over-the-door option is great if you don't want something stand alone,” explains Kosarek. “Finding what works for you and your space is key.” The organizer has 10 compartments of varying sizes to hold gift bags, tape, ribbons, wrapping paper, and more. And with clear pockets—some with zippers and others sealed with velcro—you’ll be able to see where everything is stored at a glance. Little Elf Gift Wrap Cutter Amazon $19 at Amazon “I bought a Little Elf cutter last year on a whim, and I absolutely love it for getting straighter cuts,” says Kosarek. Instead of jagged lines you often get from scissors, this cutter makes it easy to slice straight lines for professional-looking wrapping. The plastic tool slides over the roll of paper (fits rolls up to 2.25 inches in diameter), and all you have to do is drag it down the length of the roll for perfectly straight pieces of gift wrap. Amazon reviewers love it, too, giving the cutter more than 10,700 five-star ratings. Wrap Buddies Wrapping Paper Clamps Amazon $25 at Amazon Kosarek loves these table clamps that keep wrapping paper in place while you cut. Attach the holders to your workspace, place a roll in between them, and then start cutting. The best part is that they double as a tape dispenser, so you’ll have your tape right at your fingertips. Super Deal Portable 4-Foot Plastic Folding Table Amazon Orig. $39 $34 at Amazon “I have folding tables at home that I use for projects so that I don't take over work or eating spaces when I have a lot of wrapping,” Kosarek explains. She adds that having a non-food table to use can help you avoid getting glitter or sparkles where you eat. This 4-foot-long rectangular table folds in half for easy storage when it’s not in use. When it is in use, though, the sturdy steel legs have rubber pads to prevent scratches on your floors. It’s also waterproof, so you can just wipe it down when you’re finished with your wrapping. Once the holiday season is over, it would also be useful for outdoor gatherings in the summer or for additional table space when hosting guests. Joyin 24-Piece Pull Bows Set Amazon $15 at Amazon “If you like the look of bows and haven't ever used pull bows, give them a try!” Kosarek recommends. “They are easier to store and aren't as stiff. They are more forgiving for travel, and in my opinion, look better on gifts.” Pull bows couldn’t be easier to put together: Simply hold the inner ribbon and push the outer ribbon down toward the end to create a beautiful present topper. This bundle includes a variety of festive prints, including stripes, candy canes, plaid, mistletoe, and more. Momoni 13-Piece White Gift Boxes Set Amazon $15 at Amazon Kosarek says that you shouldn’t waste money on expensive boxes, which makes sense, since they’ll just be tossed to the side. Instead, grab an affordable set like this one from Amazon that includes 13 boxes of different sizes. The boxes lie flat, so they won’t take up too much storage space, and you can just pop them up when you’re ready to start wrapping gifts. Jam Paper Glitter Wrapping Paper Amazon $19 at Amazon “I love glitter wrap—it is always a show stopper,” says Kosarek. She notes that you should keep in mind that the sparkles will typically get all over everything, so she suggests you cover your work surface. According to Kosarek, tape doesn’t easily stick to it, so she recommends using ribbon “strategically on gifts wrapped in this paper to keep everything together,” and also adds that you should “keep glitter-wrapped presents in a box or bag to avoid too much fall-out before gifting.” Snag this wrapping paper in red, gold, green, teal, pink, white, or navy glitter for everything from holiday to housewarming presents. The roll has 25 square feet worth of paper for all your gifting needs. Maypluss Gold Printed Wrapping Paper Rolls Amazon $13 at Amazon In addition to glitter paper, Kosarek recommends choosing wrapping paper that you can use for multiple purposes, like birthdays and parties. She adds, “One of my favorite wrap combos is gold glitter, white with small gold stars, and white with gold lines. I've used it for baby showers, wedding gifts, birthdays, and more.” You get three different patterns with this set of paper rolls, and there are a few print variations to choose from, including a set of green and gold and another with black, white, and gold designs. The wrap has grid lines on the reverse side to make cutting effortless, and the mini rolls are the perfect size for smaller presents. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
