Erin Napier Gives Fans A Tour Of Her Family’s New Camper: “Ugly On The Outside, But Real Sweet On The Inside”

Another day, another reason to envy Erin Napier.

The HGTV star recently offered a glimpse of her family’s new camper on social media, and boy is it a beauty. 

Erin explained that while she and husband Ben could “never get rid of” Jolene the Airstream—the stunning trailer gifted to them by Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane a few years ago—they found themselves needing more room for their growing family. 

“We didn’t know how to camp with two kids the way we built it. So meet our new camper, Gru. He’s ugly on the outside, but real sweet on the inside,” she wrote alongside a slideshow showcasing the interior of the new addition. “The cheapest beach, lake, and mountain house in one.”

The first photo shows Ben stretched out on the living room floor playing with the couple’s two daughters, Helen and Mae. A charming black-and-white kitchen, an electric fireplace, and cozy-looking bunk beds for the girls can be seen in the background. 

The camper, er, “Gru,” is outfitted in organic shades of green and brown with modern pops of white. Homey details like area rugs and board and batten could convince us to go anywhere in it.

Erin revealed that they purchased the camper from a family who originally bought it from Wisconsin-based Driftless (RV) Renovators, who, she notes, “did a beautiful job!” 

She said that they updated the bedroom to “work for Ben since he’s a giant” and the bunk beds for “two little girls who love wallpaper and blackout curtains.”

Erin and Ben first introduced fans to their love of camping by renovating their first trailer, Jolene the Airstream, on an episode of Home Town in June 2020.

“We’ve taken three camping trips since quarantine began and have four more scheduled before summer’s end,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “We have had our sweetest memories as a family to date inside this little airplane without wings and I can’t wait to show Helen the USA as she grows up.”
