We all have our favorite Publix brand products (unofficial Greenwise dried mango fan club president here) that go into our shopping carts week after week. The Florida-based grocery chain has dedicated fans for everything from Pub Subs to fried chicken to Key lime pie.

The trouble with finding a favorite product is that there’s always a chance it might be discontinued. And while the three items mentioned above will probably always be around, there are other Publix finds that have disappeared from shelves and gone into retirement. And way too soon, in our opinion. Because so many Southerners are loyal to Publix, this can cause despair, outrage, and even formal petitions to bring back items, like an especially beloved bakery-made icebox cheesecake.

Well, today we have some good news about two fan-favorite products that have been called back up out of retirement. One is available in stores now, and the other will be available this summer. Read for all the details.

Mango Lemonade

This tropical fruit grows all over the Sunshine State, so it seems like a no brainer for Publix to stock this refreshing twist on lemonade. Made with concentrated lemon and mango juices, sugar, and water, it has a fresh, homemade taste that’s just the right balance of sweet and tangy. Not surprisingly, customers adored this drink—so much so that when it was eventually taken off shelves, there was a social media campaign to bring it back.

And now it’s back! Maria Brous, Director of Communications at Publix, says that Mango Lemonade was once a limited time offering that is now a permanent item at all stores. So now you can enjoy this punchy drink all year long. Look for it in the deli section.

Carrot Cake Cookies

Sometimes the most unassuming looking items turn out to be the ones that really knock your socks off. That is the case for Publix’s Carrot Cake Cookies, which combined the ingredients of the classic layer cake with the chewy-crispy texture of a cookie. Each cookie was loaded with dried pineapple, coconut, walnuts, diced carrots, cinnamon, and “cream cheese-flavored drops” that were similar to white chocolate chips.

Good news for cookie fans: According to Brous, this limited time item will once again be available in the store’s bakery department starting in July 2024 through September 2024. Mark your calendars, people!
