The tale of Connie the Container Dog, the pregnant pup who made headlines in January for spending more than a week locked in a shipping container in Houston, just keeps getting better. After being found by U.S. Coast Guard members starved and dehydrated in a Dubai-bound shipping container stacked 25 in the air, Connie was transferred to Maryland-based Forever Changed Animal Rescue (FCAR) to find her forever home. But first, she had her own cargo to deliver. At the end of February, a month after she was rescued, Connie successfully delivered eight healthy puppies. The labor and delivery were complicated by what she’d been through physically, but the determined mama persevered. “It’s amazing,” Dr. Andrea Deoudis, a veterinarian and co-founder of FCAR, told WAVY. Deoudis wasn't the only one to be amazed by Connie’s story. Pedigree brand loved it so much they decided to get involved to help the pups find forever homes. The brand covered all of the adoption fees for Connie and her puppies. Courtesy Pedigree As of June, Connie and all eight puppies were adopted. Day = made. Was this page helpful?
